BQ51050B: Detect Wireless Power

Part Number: BQ51050B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51003

In the system I am putting together, I need to detect the presence of wireless power.  This part is replacing the BQ51003B (plus a battery charger), namely due to it's packaging for DFM issues.  I am currently proposing that we run RECT into the gate of a low logic threshold MOSFET, which would then be suitable to replace WDET on the BQ51003.  The CHG signal is only active whilst the battery is charging (it turns off when end of charge), so this is not a good source for the signal.  Is there another way more reliable?

Using voltage on RECT is the best option.  This is the full wave rectified AC signal and will show signals from TX coil.  The TX in some case may send only short pulsed.  Depending our your WDET requirements your circuit may need to detect them also.
