LM2576: Question about Maximum duty cycle

I'd like to know where the maximum duty cycle limit of LM2576 come from even though LM2576 doesn't need Boot strap.

The LM2576 uses an NPN bipolar transistor as the power switch.

This device does not need a bootstrap capacitor. The maximum duty cycle

constraint comes from the normal propagation delays with the control circuits of the regulator.
