TPS2595: Alternative solution for TPS2595

Hi team，

My customer is searching for a OCP and OVP solution. The normal input is 15V/1A. Customer requires that the OCP point=2.4A and the OVP point is 20V. I checked TPS2595 but its OVP only has 13.7V maximum option. So I just want to check with you if we have any E-fuse device that has 20V OVP threshold. Thanks.

    Hi Wayne,

     TPS2595 has a Max recommended operating voltage of 18V only. If customer wants to operate the part at 20V and above then we may have to suggest you a different part.

    • What is the Max operating Voltage required by customer ? 
    • When you say OVP, does customer require Over Voltage Lock-out or Over voltage Clamp ?

    Thanks for your help.

    The maximum input voltage is 30V. And the OCP point=2.4A and the OVP point =20V. 

    When OVP happens, either 'lock-out' or 'Clamp' is OK. As 'clamp' will cause temperature increasing so 'lock-out' is preferred.

    This is for consumer product use case. So the cost is also a concern for this kind of high voltage device. Hope you could give some advice. Thanks.

    Hi Wayne,

    From you requirement, looks like TPS2663 is the best suitable part.

    It can withstand input voltages up to 60V. You can set OVP at 20V and Over current limit at 2.4A. 

    Please have a look at this part and let us know if it suits your requirement.
