UCC28180: Altium Vault-TI schematic library

Part Number: UCC28180

Hi TI Support Team,

I refer to the post from Eddie Koh. I have the same general request to you. It would be very helpful to all your customers, if you would share your Altium schematic and PCB libraries with us.

Your answer from the post is not correct. All symbols of your Altium design files refer to your private TI Vault and not to the general public Altium Vault. Unfortunately the Altium Vault is not updated since some years and a lot of newer intergrated circuits and components of TI are missing in that public Altium Vault.

It looks so that TI is using a private Vault, called "Altium Vault - TI". The symbol parameter "Publisher" has been set normally to "Texas Instruments".

Please, would you share the content of your private "Altium Vault - TI" with us?

As an example of best practice, I can recommend Würth Elektronik, which provides symbols, footprints, SPICE models for various CAD programs for all available components. The components are grouped in meaningful libraries, which makes handling by the user much easier.

Thanks and kind regards

Sven

  • Hi Sven,

I will forward your request to the Altium team and will update you in a couple of days.

    Regards

    Peter

  • Hi Sven,

Unfortunately I have had no feedback from the Altium team on this. I will raise the issue again internally.

I will close this post and if you have more questions or suggestions please open a new post.

    Regards

    Peter

  • Hi Peter,

    thanks for your support.

In general, my question is not only related to a single device. TI has a wide product range and it will be very helpfully for all your customers to provide high quality footprints and symbols for PCB and schematic development, e.g. Altium or other CAD tools. TI provides for many devices CAD symbols as bxl file. Unfortunately, it requires a conversion with Ultra Librarian software. This is very inconvenient for the user if he needs more than one device and often the conversion result is not as expected.

My solution is currently to use your reference designs (often based on Altium) and to copy the contained symbols to my own project library.

    Kind regards

    Sven
