TPS54335-2A: Behavior with floating EN pin

Part Number: TPS54335-2A

Hi,

The datasheet states that floating the EN pin will enable the regulator using an internal current source. In our application the input voltage will be connected/disconnected quite often and we are keen to understand the expected behavior if floating the EN. Or rather, is it still a good idea to float the EN pin in our case (?).

What we want to ensure is that when the input voltage goes away the regulator is disabled in a controlled way, and enabled in a controlled way when the input voltage comes back. We assume it is the case even if floating the EN pin, but we wanted to make sure since we are more use to having a clear (routed) connection between the input voltage and the EN pin, ensuring they follow each other. At the same time we are space limited, so if there is no need for pulling (resistor) EN to VIN externally, then we would like to avoid that and just have the EN pin floating.

Thanks!
