LM5050-1: the difference between LM5050-1 and LM5050-2?

Hi,

LM5050-1 has a seperate pin for Vs supply but LM5050-2 does not have this separate supply pin and it takes bias or supply from VIN itself.

Additonally, LM5050-2 has FET test or status pin that can be used for diagnostics.

LM5050-1 will have leakage if Vs pin is powered from OUT and VIN is left floating. Leakage is from OUT to in.

Otherwise both are same devices.

Thank you. And I am also curious about which one is more popular in server PSU applications. Since LM5050-1 will have leakage problem, it seems that LM5050-2 can be a more simplified option, if customer don't need the diagnostics function, right?

LM5050-2 can a simplified option and it has diagnostics function as well.

For server PSU 12V (or less than 12V), TPS241x series of ORing devices is another option.

They have higher gate drive current than LM5050-x to drive bigger MOSFET in high current applications.

Thank you. Actually, they use LM5050 for 54V output server PSU. Is there any plan to release new device with Volt Transient Capability higher than 100V? They mentioned that sometimes the transient output voltage will go up to 110V during dynamic test.

100V is the maximum supported voltage with LM5050 devices.
