TPS709: Why can't connect 'EN' to 'VIN' for TPS709

In TPS709's datasheet, it says:

Do not connect EN to VIN

Why? Does it mean I can't tie 'EN' to 'VIN' at any time, or I can't tie them ONLY in some situation? If I my VIN isn't beyond 6.5V, why can't I tie it to 'VIN'?

    Hi ,

    TPS709 has an internal pullup an EN; therefore, there is no need to short EN to IN to enable the regulator.  If you want to drive EN separately, be sure that Ven does not exceed 6.5 V or there is a high risk of damaging an internal Zener clamp.
