UCC28780: UCC28780 reference design

Part Number: UCC28780
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5034

Hi,

Is there any application note talking about interleaved active clamp flyback using PWM IC's instead of a microcontroller? I am interested to design 33V-> 380V/.5A using interleaved active clamp flyback. This is a front end stage of a microinverter and this a  common topology. Usually, a microcontroller is used for this application. But, I wanted to check if there is any paper on interleaved active clamp flyback? Please advise.

Best Regards,

Venkat

  • Hello Venkat,

The ACF flyback is a very new topology that operates similar to a QR flyback.  It has a variable frequency and does not easily lend it self to interleaving.

TI does not have an application note on how to interleave this device.

We do have an LM5034 dual interleaved fixed current mode control that you could use to interleave flyback converters that may work for your application.

You can find information about this device at the following link.

    Regards,

    Mike
