TINA/Spice/LM3429: Time of Flight camera illumination design

Part Number: LM3429
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Dear All,

I am simulating design for Time of Flight camera's illumination board. I am trying to replicate OPT8241-CDK-EVM design. My problem is that generated infrared illumination pulses are very short, only 10 us. What should I tweak to increase them? My TINA's simulation attached. Thank you!still_converging_RC3.TSC

Linas

  • Hi Linas,

On this question, do you have question specific on how to use the LM3429's model or the model itself, or do you have question about your overall design's goal? basically you have application specific question related to camera application?

It seems like your question is more tilted toward the application itself and not necessary the LM3249's model itself, am I right? Let me know so that we can help you direct to the right team to help you with this.

  • Hello Herman,

My question is more application specific. Since this circuit with LM3429 was designed on OPT8241-CDK-EVM, but not populated with parts, I am not sure if it's ok to use it. The pulse duration is my biggest sorrow. I can see 10 us pulses in simulation, but is it enough for Time Of Flight sensor?

    Linas

  • LInas, we are going to take your query and forward it to one of our systems teams that have more knowledge about ToF applications. Please allow us a few additional days to get back with you.
