BQ25150: Concern on accuracy in the datasheet of TI charger IC BQ25150

Hi TI,

In charger IC BQ25150’s datasheet. Voltage regulation accuracy and fast charge current accuracy of BQ25150 are good, but they are at Tj=25ºC. We cannot always use this charger IC at Tj=25ºC. So, could you provide their accuracies at -40ºC < Tj < 85ºC, as the same as condition of precharge current accuracy?

Besides, there is no accuracy for charge safety timer and precharge safety timer. Could you provide their accuracies?

Please provide updated BQ25150 datasheet.

Hello Andy,

Since the safety charge timer is selected using register bits in the CHARGERCTRL0 Register, no accuracy is shown. This will be governed by the oscillators internal to the device. For the battery voltage accuracy, the +-0.5% accuracy actually applies to the entire operating temperature range. This will be updated in the datasheet soon.

Thanks for your reply.

I have used TI charger ICs BQ24250 and BQ24160 in our products. Their safety charge timers also are selected in the register bits by us. However, they have safety timer accuracy specifications in their datasheets.

So, please add accuracies of charge safety timer and precharge safety timer into BQ25150 datasheet.

Besides, what is the fast charge current accuracy of BQ25150 for -40ºC < Tj < 85ºC?

Andy,

The same goes for ICHARGE. The accuracy is +-5% across the operating temperature range.

I still have the question: Why BQ25150 doesn’t have accuracy specifications for charge safety timer and precharge safety timer while BQ24250 and BQ24160 have?
