BQ40Z50-R3-DEVICE-FW: default values in bqStudio

Hi,

I plan to work with bq40z50-R3 and downloaded the newest version of bqStudio (1.3.86).

Here, I can only chose bq40z50-R2 and import its default values. I know that most values are same with R2 and R3 as well as the datasheet, but some new features are implemented as can be seen in the change list.

Is there any possibility to get default values for bq40z50-R3 imported or already select this bq-version in the startup of the program?

Or do you recommend just working with bq40z50-R2 selected in bqStudio?

Hi Sabrina,

When you download the new firmware for the BQ40Z50-R3, the download should include a file with a .bqz extension. You need to copy this file into your BQStudio config directory (C:\ti\BatteryManagementStudio\config\). This will allow BQStudio to automatically recognize the device as the R3 version.

Hi Sabrina,

If you already have the bq40z50-r3 fw installed on your device, it already has the defaults programmed in it. You only need the bqz for the bq40z50-r3 which will be available in fw installer here, http://www.ti.com/tool/BQ40Z50-R3-DEVICE-FW and that needs to be copied to c:\batterymanagementstudio\config.

Thank you both, I just downloaded the firmware package and included in config path of bqStudio.

It worked out perfectly fine!
