TPS51623: TPS51623 Maximum OCP value

Part Number: TPS51623

Hi Sir,

We are used the TI TPS51623 Calculator Tool to Design the OCP value,

But we are see the Over Current Limit Maximum setting is 17A (Pin10 1200k, Pin12 100k, Pin13 429k),

if try to setting over 17A, then Pin10&Pin12&Pin13 are same value.

Our customer want to Design the Iout=18A & OCP=32A, How to setting the Components value?

VIN=12V~19V

Vout=1V

Iout=18A

OCP=32A

L=0.33uH(3.5mohm) with 800KHz.

  • Hello Hugo,

    Referring to the electrical spec table of the datasheet, there are 8 OCP settings in mV. These represent VCSP to VCSN voltage. To achieve a higher OCP value, you can either use a lower DCR inductor, or increase the division ratio in the DCR sense network (note this reduces signal to noise ratio for the controller too..). The XLS tool will complain about 3.5mOhm DCR anyway because it creates a lot of power loss greater than 3% efficiency. This is just a guideline, and it is up to you whether you accept it.You should be able to input your desired OCP value and use the solver macro (CNTRL+Q) to recalculate the DCR divider network.
