BQ25120A: bq25120A power up problem

Hi Team,

Can you help to solve some problem with bq25120A.

I encountered problem during power up.

The problem is :

When fully charged battery connected without charger I unable to configure charger to other voltage different from the default.
Same code when battery and after connected charger everything works properly.
When only charger connected also everything works properly.

It’s mean when the battery connected I unable to communicated with charger .

This issue is very urgent, can you clarify?

Hello,

What is the state of the /CD pin when this issue occurs?

You want /CD high in BAT only mode. If /CD is low, you'll be in Hi-Z mode in which there will be no I2C communication.

Hello,

Can you try toggling the /CD pin and checking to make sure your program isn't setting the HZ_mode bit in register 03 to 1 before you remove the battery.

Secondly, can you measure the current being pulled from the battery with no load on PMID or SYS.

I have been continue to solve this problem but encountered with other problem When I configure output to 3V and after change state in Hi-Z mode after

50 second (watchdog) the charger reset all registers and goes to the default state of 1.8V. But in my scenario in in Hi-Z mode charger has to supply 3V. what I have to do?

Additionally, when I switched charger to the Hi-Z mode (CD in low) I expect that charger automatically disables the watchdog. Even though the charger in Hi-Z mode doesn't disable watchdog.

Hello,

The watchdog should be disabled in Hi-Z mode. Is the input absent?
