Hi,

Even though USB adapter is DCP, if input current limit has to be 500mA, what setting is needed at D+, D- and DSEL?

    David,

    If D+ and D- are left floating, the report unknown adapter which sets IINDPM register to 500mA.  Or, you can use the ILIM pin resistor to clamp the input current to 500mA regardless of what D+/D- puts into the IINDPM register.
