BQ25601: How to confrim thermal shutdown function

Dear Sir,

Could you please let me know how to confirm the thermal shutdown function.
How can I set the THERM_STAT bit to high (Charge Fault REG09[5:4] set to "10")?

I could confirm the thermal regulation function by heating the surface of the IC.
However, the IC surface temperature was about 300℃.

Hi Chiaki,

Thermal shutdown occurs when the IC's junction temperature rises above 160 C. When the device enters thermal shutdown, the converter will stop switching, an active-low INT pulse will be asserted, and the charge fault bits will report thermal shutdown.

How will the junction temperature of the IC rise above 160℃?
I would like to know the test method.

Hi Chiaki,

We typically test thermal shutdown by pointing a handheld heat gun directly at the IC. This raises the junction temperature over 160 C and causes the device to enter thermal shutdown.
