LM73606: Inserting a resister on CBOOT

Part Number: LM73606

I'd like to insert a small resister on CBOOT in serial to 0.47uF capacitor for EMI improvement buck up.
Could you advice the recommended resister value and its accepted range?

Thanks in advance.

  • Sawamoto-san,

You can try a 4.7 Ohm series resistor. This limits the turn-on speed of the high-side FET, reducing the dv/dt and thus helping to lower high-frequency EMI (at the expense of slightly higher switching losses).

In addition, it's important to keep the input ceramic capacitor as close as possible to the IC's VIN and GND pins -- this minimizes parasitic loop inductance that may lead to SW node voltage overshoot and ringing.
