Output active discharge

Hello,

I look into datasheet and couldn't find active discharge description. I think TPS54519 doesn't have active discharge function. Does my understanding correct?

Please let me confirm this because we don't prefer active discharge.

Hi,

By active discharge, do you mean the FPWM? Yes TPS54519 works with FPWM at light load, it will not skip frequency and the low side diode may conduct negative current at light load.

Hello Zhang-san,

Some devices have MOSFET for discharge output capacitor when EN goes low. Does TPS54519 have this function?

Hi Watanabe-san,

No, it doesn't have this function. both high side and low side MOS will turn off when EN goes low.
