Using the development board, input voltage is 12V from 3 18650 batteries and output is at 16V. Perfect! Just not getting enough current to run our motor. We are using batteries, so our input voltage can be between 4V and 12V and we would like the output at 16V. We need up to 6A under our heaviest load, but typical is 3A. At 6A, we would like to cut the power and resume when the load is under 6A.
Can you please recommend a part for us (hopefully with an eval kit) that would make more sense for us?
Thank you!
As you can see in the introduction, it says that this is a 10A part which should have plenty of power for our application. Could this be a configuration issue? The table shows much less for Amperage. Is 10A peak Amperage? and the max steady state only 2A? If so, is there a better part for our application?
Hi Jeff,
the 10A is the input current, not output current. in this application, output power is 96W, the input current could reach at least 24A from 4V input.
I would suggest a boost controller device, such as TPS43061
