Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM5060
The LM5060 circuit is set with OVP at 17V and UVP at 10V. Testing confirms that the LM5060 shuts off when the BATT (schematic attached below) voltage exceeds 17V, and turns on when BATT is below 14.9V. I've noticed that if I disable the gate driver by driving the EN pin low when 14.9V < BATT < 17V, the LM5060 does not turn on when I drive the EN pin high again. The LM5060 will stay off until BATT drops below 14.9V, just as if OVP had been triggered.
However, if I toggle the EN pin when BATT < 14.9V, the LM5060 behaves as expected i.e. turns off when EN pin is low and turns back on when EN pin is high again. I've observed this behavior when the OVP is set to 14V and 17V, and when the buck converter is connected and not connected.
For example, I set BATT=16V. I press the button S1 which disables the LM5060. I let go of S1, but the LM5060 won't turn on and FAULT is high. If I decrease BATT below 14.9V, the LM5060 turns on.
I've looked for a voltage spike on BATT that could trigger the OVP, but I haven't found such a spike. I do not have any issues with the EN pin when BATT is near the UVP threshold.
Is what I'm observing expected behavior for the LM5060? If so, I'm having trouble finding this in the datasheet.
