BQ25883EVM: to talk to EV2400

Please provide assistance in getting the EV2400 talking to the BQ25883EVM eval module. Here is customer's experience so far:

The BQ25883EVM eval module’s User's Guide (SLUUC10–February 2019) instructs:

“With the EV2400 connected to the PC and the EVM, launch Battery Management Studio (bqStudio).

Select Charger and the BQ25881 evaluation software.”

And in another place the user’s guide instructs:

“With the EV2400 connected to the PC and the EVM, launch Battery Management Studio (bqStudio).

Select Charger and the BQ25883 evaluation software.”

 With BQSTUDIO version v1.3.86.3 installed on my Windows PC, there is no BQ25881 or BQ25883 listed as a choice in BQSTUDIO.

 

There is a newer “Testing Purposes Only” version of BQSTUDIO (v1.3.92.3) on TI.com, but I get an error attempting to run this newer, test version.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Viktorija,

    Does the customer see the bqz file for the BQ25882? They can use this file with their BQ25883 EVM as well.

    Per customer:

    I think I am up and working now with bqStudio.   I was verifying version numbers on the bqStudio I have installed and discovered that I apparently had an older software version.  I went back to the ti.com site and re-downloaded and re-installed and now I have the version number matching the website,       v1.3.86 .

    This version does list a BQ25882 as a choice, so I will proceed with that.

    For what it is worth, the zip file I downloaded yesterday, “sluc525v.zip” contained this older version “BatteryManagementStudio-1.3.54.1_Build1-windows-installer.exe”.    The same download today, “sluc525v.zip” contains this newer version “BatteryManagementStudio-1.3.86_Build3-windows-installer.exe”

    Okay, thanks for the update. Let me know if the BQ25882's bqz file doesn't work for whatever reason.
