TPS60403-Q1:

Part Number: TPS60403-Q1

Hello,

i plan to use the TPS60403-Q1 as a voltage inverter with +2.5V input. The load current is 4mA maximum. I want to minimize output ripple voltage as much as possible (without linear post regulator). Therefore i plan to set C(fly) = C(out) = 10uF. The output shall be followed by an RC post filter with R = 10Ohms and C= 10uF. All Cs ceramic multilayer. My question: Is there any upper limit on C(fly) or C(out), and if yes what would that be?

Thanks and best regards,

Stefan

  • Hi Stefan,

According to datasheet, the output cap max limit is 100uF and larger values are acceptable for C(out) and C(fly).

    Best regards,

  • Hello Stefan,

In theory, you can use any capacitor larger than 10uf, but we don't recommend you do that, because we can't guarantee it works as our datasheet. To minimize the output voltage ripple, you can add the LC filter according p16 on our datasheet .

    Best Regards,

    Kevin
