LM27313: LM27313 application issue

Diode p/n MBR0520LT1G field failure in LM27313 boost voltage regulator circuit. Failure description - wire inside of the diode fused due to an electrical overstress event. This diode is recommended in LM27313 datasheet. Please advise why operational conditions exceeds diode absolute datasheet rating.

Hi Oleh,

The layout is bad. Output capacitor should be close to diode and PGND. Inductor should be close to diode and SW pin. You can refer to datasheet part 10.1 for guidliness.

Can you tell me the Vin, Vout, Iout? Have you tried to change a new diode and run the test again?

Thank you Zach. Vin +5 V, Vout +4.3V, Iout <0.4 A. We changed diode, and it works fine.
