Hello

how to set TPS2546 when it is connected with IPAD mini 2, so that IPAD mini 2 can reach 2.1A charging?

please suggest the entire setting which includes CTL1, CTL2， CTL3 , ILIM_SEL, ILIM_LO, ILIM_HI, and TPS2546 is not used in computer system.

    Please refer to TPS2546's circuit,  when it is connected with IPAD, CTL3=1, and the resistor value on pin 8 is about 22.5KΩ, so the ILIM_HI current is about 2.2A.

    But when we connected IPAD mini 2, the output current maximum value is only 1.8A but not 2.1A, when we use load resistor to replace IPAD, the output current can reach 2.2A.

    And the Voltage on D+= 2.393V, =1.769V,  as belowed

    we set the TPA2546 in DCP auto mode, is the voltage on D+/D- right?

    On the other hand , we use USB Adapter to charge the same IPAD mini 2, and Voltage on D+= 2V, VD-=2.7V.

    For our PCBA with TPS546, the right situation is that VD+ should be 1.769V, and VD- should be 2.393V.

    Could you help check our setting so TPS2546 can charge IPAD mini 2 at 2A?

    Hello Jesse,

    You have the TPS2546 configured correctly and is operating in the proper charging mode, which is divider 2. Divider 2 can support up to 2.1A, but that does not mean that the connected device has to pull 2.1A of current. You are advertising that you can support 2.1A, but the iPad is only wanting 1.8A. This is normal behavior and there is no problem.
