TPS63061: low cost buck boost for Li-Ion battery application design

May you tell what's the application? The spec is not normal for us as it both has wide range for Vin or Vout.

And please confirm the Vout configuration. Is it dynamic adjust or fixed for different version.

This is for Medical Device, Mainly focused on Maternity & Infant care.

The Vout configuration is fixed at 5V or 9V or 12V.

Battery type is Li-Ion with 2-cell or 3-cell configuration. 

Buck boost input voltage is 5V to 8.4V for 2-cell and 7.5V to 12.6V for 3-cell configuration

Basically the idea is to have common solution for 2-cell & 3-cell configuration. If the input does not support wide range, please suggest separate solution. Note that either with 2-cell or 3-cell the out shall support all 5V, 9V, 12V fixed configurations.

We have no 12V output converter with FET integrated right now. The most economical way is using converter with integrated FET like TPS63070 for 5V, 9V output case, and using controller with external FET like LM5175 for 12V output case. 

If you want to use signal solution to cover all these configuration, I only could recommend you to choose a Buck-Boost controller. Like LM5175 with eternal 4 switches. It could meet your requirements well.

Thank you for the solutions which are close to our requirements. How about using LM5118/LM25118, they seems to be low cost, any performance impact using these ones?

The LM5118/LM25118 is non-synchronous buck boost controller, with 2 FET and 2 Diode. The efficiency may not so well compared with synchronous parts.
