BQ25600: HIZ mode operation

Need more explanation on the HIZ mode of BQ25600.

If the battery is connected, how can we make BQ25600 enter the HIZ mode?

Any setting of the registers or schematic need to set? Please advise.

Also, if under HIZ mode, if the battery is not full and under charging, can bq25600 detect if the charging is full or not. Can UCC25600 stop it when fully charged.

    Hi David,

    You can make the BQ25600 enter HIZ mode by setting the EN_HIZ bit (REG00[7]).

    You can think of HIZ mode as disconnecting the adapter from the charger in order to shut off the converter and reduce the input current (you can find more details about this in the EC table). Therefore, in HIZ mode, there is no charging.
