TPS63710: help select output 48V and -48V 250mA solution

Part Number: TPS63710
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMR36006, LM5163-Q1

We have a product that requires either 24V or 60V input, with two output voltages of 48V and - 48V 250mA. Can you recommend a part for us? You can also use one chip to generate 48V, and another chip to generate - 48V.

  • Hi HY,

Boost and inverting buck-boost circuits are required if the input is 24V. However, if the input is 60V, then a buck converter can be used to provide the 48V output. Consider, for example, the LMR36006 60V/0.6A converter.

Note that the effective input voltage rating of an inverting buck-boost with a 60V input is Vin + Vout = 60V + 48V = 108V, so it would be easier to use a 24V input for that. In that case, one possibility is the LM5163-Q1 100V/0.5A converter.

    Regards,
