BQ40Z50-R2: Temperature Calibration

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Hello.

I have two issues with the bqManagement Studio software.

1. I am trying to calibrate temperature. Temperature Enable is set to 12 and Temperature mode is set to 10.

When I attempt to calibrate I get the error message "Calculated external sensor two temperature correction is out of range".

2. The help instructions indicate there is an "Advanced Calibration" Page I can only bring up the "Basic Calibration Page".

I have a 10k NTC Thermistor to the TS4 pin and another one on the TS1 pin.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

  • Hi Mark,

There is no advanced calibration page, we just have one calibration page. you can set the temperature enable to 0x12, which would mean that you are enabling TS4 and TS1. With temperature mode 10, TS4 would measure FET temp and TS1 the cell temp. Please reset the gauge before performing calibration. Do not have scanning enabled in the registers.

Please make sure that you choose external 1 as cell temp and external 4 as fet temp when calibrating temperature in the calibration page.

  • I do have the settings you suggested. The problem is the calibration page does not show the External 1 and External 2 choices.

Below is the only calibration screen I can open. The bqStudio Rev I have is 1.3.54.1 Not sure how to proceed.

  • Hi Batt,

Did you have time to look at my post above. I do not have the calibration options of External 1 and External 2 on my calibration screen.

Can you please tell me how to set up the screen for those?

    Thanks

  • Hi Mark,

Please download the test version of bqstudio and install it into any different folder other than where you have the previous version installed. You can have 2 versions installed at the same time. I see the screenshot of your simple calibration plugin and I believe it may be an installer issue. With this you should be able to get the advanced calibration window.

  • Thanks Batt,

I will download it and try it next week.
