TPS51123: TPS51123

Part Number: TPS51123

In the related question  said that:

The minimum TRIP voltage is 515mV, so the minimum TRIP resistance is 51.5K ohm.

However, the datasheet says:

Is there a mistake?

  • Hi Gonzalez,

This is Edwin. Please refer below picture. The second picture is in EC table.

205mV is an internal limited value. In IC internal, it will limit Trip voltage minimum value as 205mV.

400mV(typical) is a shut down value. when Trip voltage is under 400mV, IC will *** down.

515mV is a minimum value. To avoid IC trigger OC value in normal operation, it's suggested that Vtrip minimum voltage is 515mV.

  • I use equation 3 and the value of the resistor R6 in www.ti.com/.../sluu340.pdf

    In [3]: R_TRIP = 130e3
    In [4]: R_TRIP * 10e-6 / 9 - 24e-3
    Out[4]: 0.12044444444444447

    V_TRIP = 120mV

    is it right?

  • Hi Eluduena,

The value of R_TRIP(130k ohm) X Ics (10uA) which equals 1.3V should be in the range of 0.515V to 2V. So the resister R_TRIP range should be 51.5k to 200k ohm. If the resister that you select is in the range of 51.5k to 200k ohm, it's ok.

According to these equation 3 and 4, and OC value, you can calculate the R_TRIP resister. But if you want to check R_TRIP resister range, please refer above information.

    BRs,

    Edwin.
