Hi Gururaj,
When the BQ78350-xx sees a voltage missing which is identified in the cell map, it will turn off the BQ769x0. The default configuration for the AFE cell map for the firmware is 3 cells in the minimum configuration allowed by any BQ769x0 family member (the BQ76920). Typically when changing the AFE cell map from a higher cell count to a lower one, the BQ78350 will see the missing cell and turn off before the change can be made. To avoid this, simulate a small charge current to keep the gauge awake, see the description near the end of section 6.4 of the EVM user guide http://www.ti.com/lit/slvu925 .
If this does not solve the issue please describe further.
