Hi TI,
If the Charge termination is disabled, Charger will be stay CV mode.
Can't the charging operation complete in this case?
And can't I check that the charge is completed through the status pin?

Hi Mason,
Disabling charge termination means that instead of entering the Termination phase and cutting off the current when it reaches the Iterm threshold, the charger will stay in the Fastcharge Voltage Regulation Phase (CV mode), and the charge current will continue gradually tapering off. This feature is for customers who can deal with the longer charge time, and have more of an emphasis on trickle charging the battery till it is fully charged, or are using external gauge to handle termination. The charger will remain in CV mode and will not stop switching unless the battery voltage exceeds the charge voltage limit. There is no risk to disabling termination, however your charge profile will take longer as the current continues to tapers.
STAT pin condition to toggle is when termination is detected while the voltage on the VFB pin is higher than the VRECH threshold AND the charge current is less than the ITERM threshold, If you disable termination, you will not be able to use STAT2 as an indication of charge complete, and will need to use external circuitry to handle termination (mcu, gauge etc).
Let me know if you have any other questions.
