BQ40Z50-R2: Chemical ID matching

Part Number: BQ40Z50-R2
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, GPCCHEM

Hello

I did the relax-discharge-relax cycle to determine a matching chemical ID for my new batteries (NiCoMn/carbon). The battery pack is 2s1p, nominal capacity of 1 cell is about 2600 mAh. The GPC report showed a match with ChemID 2060 with a deviation of 1,56%, which seems pretty good to me.

In BQStudio, the ChemID 2060 is linked to a battery with 6400 mAh (Model MP176065xc from SAFT). Does this make sense? I expected something in the range of 2600 mAh. Therefore, I'm doubting the ChemID proposal.

Thanks for your help!

  • Hi Adrian,

A cell can have the same dsg characteristic as another cell of a different capacity characterized by us. The GPCCHEM tool can match cells of different capacity that have similar OCV curves and also calculate the delta in DOD between them. The results you have are acceptable and can be used.
