BQ27542-G1: Discharge Rate

Part Number: BQ27542-G1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO

Greetings,

I was going through the documentation on how to generate a Golden Image for a BQ27542-G1 gauge, and i am a stuck at the Chem Id determination phase.

I understood that to do that i needed to perform a rel-dis-rel procedure while logging using BqStudio. The charge and discharge rates are always expressed in forms of C/5 and C/10.

My question is what does C mean ? Is it the actual design capacity of the cell ?

For example; if my design capacity is 2400 mAh and the recommended discharge rate is C/5; Does this mean that the discharge current should be 2400/5= 480 mA ?

Thanks,

Tarak
