UCC28064A: Brownout settings changes

Part Number: UCC28064A
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC28064,

Hi All,

As universal input voltage range within 85 to 265VAC for all power supply model, we may need to have this input limit from 70 to 265VAC. If i want to changes this settings what need to be done in UCC28064 IC. If changing this low input voltage limit what could go wrong ?

How to set the Brownout settings values.

Can anyone help here.

  • Hello Balasubramani,

Thank you for your interest in the UCC28064A Interleaved-PFC controller.

For a "universal input" range design, simply set the Brownout setting to the lowest voltage you require. In this case it appears to be about 70Vac.  This value will work for all input voltages, and always shut down when the input falls below 70Vac (for example).

If you change the BO level higher for high-line countries, then your PFC is no longer a universal input design, since it will not start in low-voltage countries.

    Regards,
    Ulrich
