LM2596: Have you guys see package colour like this before? LM2596SX-5.0/NOPB

Part Number: LM2596

The plastic package should be BLACK colour at both sides.

This is my first time see two colours. One side BLACK and the other side is ORANGE.

I am wondering if the product is fake or not. Have you guys see anything like this?

Nick,

The orange signifies 24mm tape width. We've implemented different colors for different tape widths to make it easier to differentiate between the different widths.

Yes the BLACK+ORANGE LM2596SX-5.0 reel is 24mm (D1916+5).

But I have BOTH SIDES BLACK reel LM2596SX-5.0 in my hand,it is also 24mm (D1915+5).

So the new date product will use BLACK+ORANGE? BOTH SIDES BALCK discontinued?

Is there any TI official announcement about this change?

Nick,

We are in the process of implementing this color system. Old reels and other product lines may use other colors.

The conclusion is that the orange is not out of the ordinary.
