LM3478: Transient model not switching

Part Number: LM3478

Hello,

I have imported the unencrypted transient spice model into TINA to do a 12V to 24V SEPIC converter. I have copied the design from WEBENCH, so I don't think anything is wrong with my configuration.

The simulation seems to turn the switch on once but then never continues to switch at the desired frequency. Can you help me spot the issue?

I have attached my TINA design file and the macro i'm using for the LM3478 transient model.

Regards,
Ryan B.12-to-24 sepic.TSCLM3478_TRANS.TSM

  • Hi Ryan,

I've been able to run the model by selecting "run using initial conditions and setting the transient time to be longer than 4ms to account for the soft-start delay. However, it looks like the model may not be completely accurate for your situation. I will forward this to our modeling team for their input.

    Thanks!

    Richard

  • Hi Richard,

Thanks for your help moving this along. Is there any ETA for when we could get a working model? I'm happy to talk with the modeling team directly if you can connect me with your contact.

    Thank you,
    Ryan B.
