    Hi cafain

    The abs max junction temp is 150C and I assume this is being run in 25C ambient.

    Using the R_theta,j,a for the D package on the datasheet, I calculated that the maximum power dissipation is around 1.7W.

    Limiting the power dissipation to 1.5W will guarantee safe and reliable operation of the device.
