BQ76930: BQ76930 no communincation

Part Number: BQ76930

BQ76930 will be no communication after normal operation for a period of time, it can't read and write data. It can rest only disconnect cell. Whether the battery enters a state?

  • Hi User,

The BQ76930 does not have a reset pin, it is designed to have I2C always active when awake and self resetting.

Slave devices like the BQ76930 do not drive SCL.  Noise on the SCL line could be seen by a slave as clock pulse and put the slave in an output mode.  When the I2C bus gets stuck with SDA held low, the bus should be cleared by the bus master sending clock pulses until the slave releases the bus.

You might also inspect the edges of the bus, the TI EVM uses 10k pull ups which are weak but reduce current, see if your system needs stronger pull ups to provide a good edge.

If the condition repeats you might note the state of the bus signals.  On the BQ76930 note the voltage of REGOUT and CAP1.
