Hi
I want to know whether BQ25896 may use to 3 series NiMH batteries? NiMH voltage is 3.6~4.35V = 1 li-ion voltage.
Thanks
Star

Hi Star,
When charging at <0.5C, it is generally acceptable to terminate NiMH using a safety timer only. The BQ25896 can do this but the 4.2V default VBATREG and 2A charge current will need to be changed via I2C.
When charging at >0.5C , it is highly recommended for long battery life to terminate NiMH with either very precise dV/dt or dTemp/dt termination method, which the BQ25896 cannot do, even with host software and its 7-bit ADC. A more precise ADC, controlled by the host, would be necessary to determine when to terminate.
