TPS51216: How do we calculate the dead time with TPS51216 and discrete MOSFET?

Dear Sir,

How do we calculate the dead time with TPS51216 and discrete MOSFET?

We must to make sure it will not have short risk for DCDC converter.

Hi Damon,

The dead time is 10ns typical between DRVH off and DRVL on, and 20ns typical between DRVL off and DRVH on.

This information is available on datasheet page 5 spec table.

But the dead time also related with the parameter of H/L side MOS.

So, we must to calculate with MOSFET.

It can prevention abnormal phenomenon.

Hi Damon,

I don't find more information on datasheet.

I think the part can detect one FET turn off, then add dead time in spec before turning on other FET.

By this way, the dead time is not related to FET parameter.
