Could you give some information about how long FG takes to update its information like voltage, current or flags(FC, status of GPIO pin)? I am just curious about time of FG firmware roll polling? I want to know how long FG takes to know and update current value if I change discharge current like from 5A to 10A?

Hi Emma,

When active the gauge should update V, I, and T values every second. If in sleep with no comms, the updates happen at sleep current time and sleep voltage time. The current register will update instantaneously to the measured value. The avg current is a 14s low pass filtered value of current.

1,current()(0x0A) will update once 1s in active mode. Is my understanding right?

2,If I set DA configuration[nr] and [EMSHUT_EN] both 0, does emergency shutdown feature enable? What should I configure to enable emergency shutdown feature?

3,What is the meaning of 'SLEEP' and 'IN_SYSTEM_SLEEP' of DA configuration? What are the differences?

Hi Emma,

1. Yes

2. You have to set EMSHUT_EN to 1 to enable emergency shutdown if NR=1. If NR=0, you need to use the MFC command to enter shutdown.

3. SLEEP is enabling the gauge to go into the low power state in the absence of current. IN_SYSTEM_SLEEP allows the gauge to enter SLEEP when the comm lines can't be pulled low and the gauge is integrated into the system instead of being in a removable pack.

Set NR=0, that will enable the pin for system detection. Also, please check connection on the DS in page 30.
