Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC21710,
Hi, I have a question about UCC21710 enable pin(EN).
Can EN pin connected to a 500 kHz Hi/Lo signal? I want to make UCC21710 operate periodically.
Thanks!

Hello Chih,
Than you for the interest in the UCC21710-Q1. The expert on this part can better answer this question when they are available in the office, and will comment on the post soon.
But I do have one question. There are two inputs IN+ and IN- for the driver inputs. Could you use the IN- for the function of changing the driver state at the frequency you mention? 500kHz seems like a high frequency for the enable and disable function.
Regards,
Hi Chih Kuo:
The RST/EN pin has the same propagation delay and pulse width distortion as the IN+ and IN- pins, so 500kHz should not be a problem. What is the input PWM frequency of the IN+ and IN-? Please note the output pulse width will be distorted by the 500kHz high frequency signal of RST/EN pin.
Thanks and Regards,
Susan
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your reply.
In table 2 of datasheet shows that as long as IN- is high UCC21710-Q1 will output LOW, which also satisfy required function!
I'll connect the 500 kHz signal to both EN & IN- for experimental usage.
Appreciate for your suggestion!
Best Regards,
Eric
Hi Susan,
Thanks for your suggestion, I'll connect the 500 kHz signal to both EN & IN- for experimental usage.
For your question, IN+ is connected to PWM signal with duty cycle = 100% and IN- is connected to ground.
Best Regards,
Eric
