TPS1663: Capacitor selection

Hi,

I'm designing a PCB based on TPS16630REG. My requirements are

Input Voltage : min - 4.5V max - 5.5V

Input Current: 5A

Output Voltage : 5V

Output Current : 5A

How to choose Cout and Cin capacitor for my application? Is there a equation for that?

Hello Vijana,

A min of 0.1uF cap at input and output is required for operation of TPS1663.

But a higher value of cap is recommended for transients at input and output.

As a starting point you can use 1uF cap at input and 100uF at output.
