WEBENCH® Tools/TPS715AXXEVM-065: Solar cell output regulation

Part Number: TPS715AXXEVM-065
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS782, TPS7A05, TPS7A03, TPS7A02

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

I need to provide around 3.3V to a bluetooth , reception/transmission beacon,  from a parallel, solar cell and 3.6V (recharcheable) battery, input.   The beacon draws 0-6 ma (1s on/1s off), and the solar cell output varies 0-5.5V (to recharge the battery when possible).  Low quiescent current is important.  Is this the best LDO to evaluate, or can you recommend alternatives?

  • Hi Marshall,

    We have a few options here. TPS7A02 and TPS7A03 are both sampling on our website and can provide 3.3V in a X2SON (1mm x 1mm) package with a 25nA / 200nA Iq. However, if a different package is needed, I'd recommend TPS7A05 or TPS782 with 1uA / 500nA Iq.

    regards,

    Wilson
