TPS62088: Automotive qualification planned?

Part Number: TPS62088
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62826, TPS62090

Hello,

I need a buck regulator with 2.5V input and 0.8V output.

The TPS62088 can be a choice, but it is not automotive qualified.

Is there a plan for AEC qualification of this device or similar devices like TPS62826?

I have seen the TPS62090 which is automotive qualified, but min. input is 2.5V.

What can happen if my input would be something like 2.4V?

Best regards,

Michael.

  • Hello Michael,

those decisions are usually driven by business opportunities. Operating at low input voltages like 2.5V is not so common in automotive applications. If the supply voltage is below the recommended input voltage the device may or may not operate. If it operates the performance may be degraded.

I will send you an email for further discussion of your application and close this thread.

    Best regards,

    Juergen
