TPS22968-Q1: Reverse current protection - include Output Discharge or not?

Part Number: TPS22968-Q1

We need to use the reverse current protection by utilizing the second channel in reverse.

From datasheet:

In certain applications, it may be desirable to have reverse current blocking. Reverse current blocking prevents current from flowing from the output to the input of the load switch when the device is disabled. With the following configuration, the TPS22968x-Q1 can be converted into a single-channel switch with reverse current blocking. In this configuration, VIN1 or VIN2 can be used as the input and VIN2 or VIN1 is the output.

Is it then recommended to use the device variant with the output discharge or the one without?

  • Hi Jon,

You can use either version to perform reverse current blocking with this load switch. As per the paragraph on reverse current blocking, TPS22968x-Q1 can refer to TPS22968-Q1 or TPS22968N-Q1. Depending on your need, you can choose one or the other.

Thank you for choosing TI Power Switches in your designs!
