BQ76930: What is wrong with the BQ7693003 device when the VC8 pin is open ?

Dear all

1. If the VC8 pin is open circuit, what happens to the BQ7693003 device ? The device can work normally ?

2. As below picture, if the number 9 pin of P3 connector is open circuit, what happens to the BQ7693003 device ? The circuit can work normally ?

Hi Went,

The VCx pins should not be left open. For reducing the cell count, please refer to Table 25 of the datasheet. You should short the pins together for the unused cells according to this table. The device will not work normally if you leave these connections open.

You said the device would not work normally if leave these connections open, Could you tell me concrete phenomenon, like no any creaction, or incorrect data, or other phenomenon ?

Hi Went,
