BQ34Z100-G1: Communication with repeated start.

Hi,

I am  going to do some test with "Multi-chemistry impedance track standalone fuel gauge" IC of Part number BQ34Z100-G1. In I2C mode in order to read data from the IC 

 host needs to sent repeated start after Sending Register address according to the I2C communication reference document.Now I have a confusion that will it work if I send stop bit after sending Register address ?
