BQ27426: learning cycle and final .dffs file generating

Part Number: BQ27426
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ27510,

team,

I am trying to generate the final .dffs for production based on battery test, and already finished the GPC calculation,  then get the suggested CHEMICAL ID system suggested, below is from the GPC_report:

"

Chemistry ID selection tool, rev=2.48

Configuration used in present fit:
ProcessingType = 2
NumCellSeries = 1
ElapsedTimeColumn=2
VoltageColumn = 6
CurrentColumn = 12
TemperatureColumn = 5

Best chemical ID : 3550 Best chemical ID max. deviation, % : 4.91

"

the test is based on below battery parameter:

battery capacity=3000mAh (1s4p in system finally, total 6000mAh)

charge voltage=4.3V

Term voltage=2.9V

Question and helps,

1) is the maxim deviation can be accepted? if it can not be accepted, how i get the more accurate CHEM ID? at first, i want to get a final .dffs file based on this CHEM ID then,

2) can you help provide GMFS file based on the chemical ID? or do i need more test.

3) what i should do next to get the final .dffs. do you have any guidance for the procedure?

if you need more information, please let me know. appreciated your early reply.

Thanks

Alex Xing

  • Hi Alex,

    less than 3% DOD error is the cut off threshold if you want less than 3% SOC error. That being said, you will need a flash based gauge like the bq27510 to be able to program the chemid on the device. You can't do that with the bq27426

    thanks

  • onyx,

    So ignore the DOD requirement, cause the hardware design already use BQ27426, so we want to accomplish the driver design based on BQ27426 even the DOD error out of rage. We want to continue, how about the question 2 and question 3?

    2) can you help provide GMFS file based on the chemical ID? or do i need more test.

    3) what i should do next to get the final .dffs. do you have any guidance for the procedure?

  • 2. No we cannot becuase the device comes hardcoded with predefined chem ids.

    3. You program the dffs on the gauge following the instructions in the app note below:

    thanks
