TPS650861: When will the generated JS file be imported?

Part Number: TPS650861
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: IPG-UI

Dears:

Could you kindly help to give some advice for below issues:

1.When will the generated JS file be imported and at what step?

2: In step 5 and check, CTL1 need not be directly from ON to OFF to detect the timing and voltage of the output power supply.

3. Can buck1, 2, 6 and LDOA1 directly use external 5V instead of internal LDO5V voltage?

  • Hi Lian,

    1. If you are using the BOOSTXL programming board, please follow the steps in this document. I think the .js file is automatically imported whenever the device is selected in IPG-UI.

    2. For you to be able to monitor the timing and voltage of your power regulators you only need to use the CTL pins you have assigned for each measurement. If CTL1 is not assigned to something you wish to monitor, you do not need to use it.

    3. Yes you can use an external 5V input for those cases.

  • Hi Layne:

Base the third issue, pls. give us more suggestion:

Which one is the external 5V input?

    1. external input 5V;

    2. the LDO5V converted from PMIC

    3. the external input 5V to PIN V5ANA.

Btw, the external 5V is used to supply 5V power to PIN DRV5V_2_A1 and DRV5V_1_6.

  • Hi Lian,

If you would like to use an external 5V input for BUCK1/2/6 and LDOA1 we recommend connecting the same external 5V input to V5ANA as well as DRV5V_2_A1 and DRV5V_1_6 like you already mentioned.

    Best regards,

    Layne J
