BQ30Z554-R1: how to check balancing FETs control?

Hi e2e support team!

According to TRM, bq30z554 has special subcommands to check operation of Charge, DisCharge FETs as well as another IC's outputs like FUSE or GPOD for ease of manufacturing.

So me wonder if it possible to check performance of Balancing FETs in the same manner i.e. via sending subcodes to Manufacture Access register?

Hi Igor,

No, you can't check balancing FETs that way because balancing is controlled by an internal bypass timer.

And one more question about balancing.

In the TRM me have found that cell balancing is tied with Qmax Update Status value.

Can you confirm that balancing will not take place (if configured and enabled) until Update Status is equal to 0x0E?
